“I have to come here now to build this business for the people, you know. Because the people are sick. So, I have to come here to do what I'm doing now for the community and black people in general. To give them a business like this so they could heal and cure themselves with natural herbs.”

On my way to the Brooklyn Museum one night, I saw something I never thought I’d see. A rasta man selling fresh jelly coconuts right on the streets of Crown Heights . It felt like a moving collage- a sight I’d see so often in Jamaica, casually pasted in the concrete backdrop of Brooklyn. So by morning, I woke up eager to find him. I walked around in search and like a prayer answered, there he was. Dressed in his rich and bright colors, he stood out against the brick and concrete of the city street. I HAD to get his story, and now, you get to hear it too.

Thank you Ras Jah Lion King for so proudly sharing your self concept and story with a curious stranger.
